SOLON SPOTLIGHT FOR PERFORMING ARTS

Who we are

Solon Spotlight is a volunteer group of parents, teachers and community members that help raise funds for the various fine arts programs in the Solon Community Schools. Solon Spotlight provides funding for several needs to include fees for competition and judging requirements, instrumental upgrades, hiring of clinicians, concert accompanists and piano maintenance.

What we have done

Solon Spotlight has paid for music for honor choirs/bands, choreography for the marching band and have provided senior scholarships for students that are continuing to play music in college.  Solons Spotlight has also provided scholarships for Middle School students allowing them to take lessons over the summer.  Funding has been provided to cover extra expenses for the fall musical and spring play.  Recently, some replacement instruments have been purchased, and pianos have been repaired and tuned.

What we would like

First and foremost, Solon Spotlight seeks out direct donations for the success of the fine arts programs.  Additionally, Solon Spotlight also seeks out advise or referrals for new opportunities and sources for fundraising events.

Solon Spotlight also will occasionally seek out volunteers for events that occur throughout the year.  If you would like to be contacted as a potential volunteer in the future, please reach out the Solon Spotlight President at soloniowaspotlight@gmail.com.  This is not a commitment; it us just an option for us to reach out to you, allowing you to provide your services should you desire.

Solon Spotlight counts on parents and local community members for advice, support, and critique.  Please consider joining our monthly meeting. The Spotlight Board would like to get as much input as possible to ensure the best path for success for our school and fine arts students.

Where to find us

The Solon Spotlight Board meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.  Meetings are held in the lobby of the Solon Center for the Arts.
